Manual to auto
I'm new to the site. Sorry if this ones been beat with a stick too many times to count.. But I have a 77 F250 highboy. It came with the 351. then a 400.. then a 460 from an 88 Ford van. (which the framerail had to be cut just to fit the manifolds) So i just purchased a 73 460 from a gran marque (sp) so that I can weld the frame piece back in. It came with a C6 bolted to it.. I have an NP435 with a divorced 205. What do I need to swap that C6 in there in place of my 4 speed? cross member changes? short or long shaft C6? I honestly don't know what this one is. But it doesn't exactly look short. I know the small driveshaft to the t case will have to be shortened.. Just wondering what I'll run into while doing the swap.

If I remember right it'll bolt right in on the same crossmember. Just a few shaft mods like the intermed. shaft. Then a shifter.
scroll down the forums to the to the 4x4 and off road board. Search for auto to manual swap. a guy "Pro" down there just swapped his 460 highboy from auto to NP435. he can tell ya want needs to be swapped if not all answered in his swap post.
