[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Dec-02 AT 03:09 PM (EST)]I was just wondering if anyone knows where to get the Cetane ratings for fuel of different brands and areas. I know the winter blends are out but I live in the south and I'm not sure if we even get winter blend or not. Maybe winter blend is nation wide during this time of year with all brands, I don't know. I know that you can buy additives such as Stanadyne that increase Cetane numbers. Has anyone experienced better mileage with the additives?
Since I started using Stanadyne, my mpg is up about 1mpg consistently. I understand that Stanadyne is supposed to raise the cetane level, but even if it didn't, it makes the truck run smoother and quieter, since it lubes the injectors.
