Banks Engineering PowerPack System

Wondering if anybody has tried the full PowerPack from Banks Engineering? How did or do you like? Also can you (instead of spending 3 grand on the Banks system) buy different air intake, exhaust, etc... and receive the same or better results than the banks system? For Less money? Wondering if anybody has tried it. My 00 could use some extra ponies.

Let me start by stating that I thing Banks makes great stuff, and they offer some terrific packages of products. That said, I think you can get similar results by gathering up components from other vendors, and once installed, see similar results with less money invested. That has been my approach since I started the project of modding my truck.
I have the components of a Stinger Plus kit on my truck, though none of my stuff is from Banks. I have the intake, downpipe, exhaust, guages, 1.0AR turbo housing, and chip. (I've actually got more goodies than that, and helped pay for them by shopping for less expensive components than Banks.) If I did the math, I wouldn't be surprised to find that I saved enough money on my components to pay for my propane system with the savings.
This is just my opinion, and anyone can feel free to disagree if they have hard facts that my components aren't of the same quality as Banks. I know that my turbo housing is built by Schwitzer, the same people that make Banks. The difference? Mine doesn't say "Banks" on it, but it was considerably cheaper.

Ditto what Quadzilla says! Banks makes good stuff but IMO it's way overpriced. I think that you can get the same results for a lot less money! I have an AFE intake, a 4" turbo-back exhaust, Autometer gauges, a Whicked Wheel and a TS flip chip and I am VERY happy with the results. I don't really know of many people that run the Banks stuff but that's my $.02 on the subject.

Put a Banks Powerpack on my 97 PSD in 98...spent $2700. on it and pulled an overnighter putting it together & love it(like it alot too). Banks backs up their products with research and fantastic customer service. Their instructions are clear and almost dummy proof. I had a problem with the Trans Command and they shipped me a new one ,no hassels, no fuss so I could get it on the road & on vacation.(turned out the problem was on my wire harness not theirs) My brother has an '01 with the Stinger kit on it and he can just walk away from me running up hill w/ both of us towing travel trailer/fifth wheels. I would not hesitate to recommend their products to anybody and will definately buy from Gale Banks again. e-mail me direct if you have any questions. You could save yourself some money peicing a set-up together, but you just might get what you (didn't)pay for.
