Thumbs up Dull headlight lenes

How to remove the haze from plastic headlight lenes.

I bought a polishing pad and bonnet for my drill and some plastic polish. Total cost around $10. Place some polish on the pad and gently work it onto the headlight lens. Start with a some what firm pressure and as the polishing compound thins out lighten up the pressure to finish polishing. Watch out for the casting nibs, you don't want to catch them and break your headlight lens. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes per side, be sure to touchup the marker lights too. Then give your vehicle a good cleaning to remove compound residue. Then a coat of wax can be applied to the lenes for protection.

Worked great on my son's '90 T-bird.

Also, as a cop, I've seen/used several diferent polishing compounds for plexi/plastic lightbar covers. Try a cop supply place. Good tip 68!

I just used the kit I purchased through Eastwood on my 87 T-Bird.
I was surprise to find that it came with a tube of Autosol metal polish.
But it worked!
After using the buffing wheel/polish I finished up using the Meguaires plastic polish by hand to bring out the brightness.

Sand with 1500 grit wet, then polish

with a sewn flannel wheel in your drill using a plastic polishing compound ACE/True Value Hardware has them.

I did this to my truck, son's truck and the wifes car, looked like new all in just three hours.

The next week took a headlight breaking rock with the truck.

Bought new Diamond clear lens off e-bay for the price on way less than a Ford unit.

The new ones make night driving three times brighter. Dont even need high beams now.
