hi all

I am new here, i just bought my boss's expy 98 eb 166k ( yikes) 2wd 5.4, but it runs good and was cheap ( 7200) but there are a few things i wanna fix, and upgrade before i really like it

a few questions maybe u can help me with , i searched but for these questions really couldnt find answers

1. the gear select indicator, i work on cars all day and see this in alot of fords, is this and adjustment to get it lined up to the right position on the indicator(like when its in drive it shows drive not 2) or do i need a new cable?

2.Have any of you swapped grills from 1999 expo grill? it seems pretty bolt on , i know the bumper i am gonna use will need some brackets made to line up right, but i am wondering about the grill , i plan on putting on a harley/lightning front bumper

thx for any info, today i am gonna tear down the truck and shampoo the entire inside

The shift indicator is usually a problem with the adjuster bracket broken. Look at the bottom side of the columb where the cable is attached and you will se a white colored plastic bracket. If its broken you have to get the whole indicator assembly to get that piece or hunt one down in a salvage yard. Pretty simple fix. Not too hard to even replace the whole thing. It could be out of alignment for other reasons also like a stretched cable, worn shift tube bushings, broken shift tube, etc.
