Dome light problem

This is about the wife's 98 Taurus, but someone here has to know something. Sometimes her dome light will just stay on for a long time for no apparent reason, especially when it's really cold or when her headlights are on. I was thinking maybe a door switch or something goofed up, but I can't see any switches like in the old days. Must be hidden in the door somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is like the trucks there is a switch that operates from the door handle that goes bad. There are many posts in the ranger forum on this subject if you search for "dome light". This switch was NOT one of Ford's better ideas.

I have had real good luck cleaning these switches with a can of electrical parts cleaner. The area to concentrate on is at the top of the door latch, the switch is up there. I flush the area till the solvent comes running out the bottom of the door the work the latch. Repeat as necessary.
