bent radius arm atachment....

'94 F150 4x2 5.0L, stock as far as I can tell

The "dog ear" that the right radius arm connects to (the passenger side one, it's almost straight under the passenger compartment on this piticular rig) is bent some. Someone knew this at one time because they drilled out the rivets on that side to replace the bushings (or used a chisel) but didn't bother to do that on the other side. Driver side appears to be fine, but the passenger side in question is hamburger....

Should I try unbolting it and bending it back out or should I try getting a new one instead??

This seems to be the fall back to the reason why I can't get any of the other stuff done on the suspention.
Won't align the front end till the tie-rods are replaced, won't replace the tie-rods till that bushing is fixed.

After that I goto shocks....wow!!....oh, after the playground equipment formerly known as Michelin Selects get replaced.

thank you for your time

have you seen this assembly on any other truck? i heard that depending on where you truck was assembled this part may be assmbled differently some factories used bolts where as others used rivets. I think this is true can anyone confirm or deny me? also im not sure that they would have used rivets on one side and bolts on the other but maybe the bracket is stock, and has not been modified that would make your life alot more simple. Is it obvious that it had been tampered with or is it possible that nothing has been touched?

I don't see a whole lot of scrapings on it so I guess it could have came from low speed.
But the way it's shaped now it's sugestive to me of a physical impact of some type. I'm visualizeing someone leaveing it in nutral or something once and the truck rolled forward and the right front tire dropped off the end of a culvert and that was the first thing to come incontact with the ground below.
The truck has 72k on it when I bought it so I don't know what it went through the first 6 years of it's life.

I did a carfax on it (proves nothing since it was orignally sold in, and I bought it in, one of the 6 states that doesn't have any type of salvage title), and I'm the second owner of the truck, which is consistant with the old registration that was in the truck.

I'm thinking of going and talking with the orignal owners to see what they can remember. They are local so maybe they won't mind much....

thank you for yoru time

You really should replace both radius arm bushings at the same time before your alignment.

Planed on using some of those poloy plastic bushings on both sides.
They are like brakes and shocks and bearings to me....sets not individuals.

Now, if I could only afford one of those '04 Effies while I build my baby back up....

I think you will be ok beating it back out, but keep an eye on it for signs of cracking, now and down the road.
The fasteners should be grade 8 and need an interference in the holes and should have no thread in the parts being clamped, use washers to get the nut to clamp. GL
