Hey guys i just bought a 1996 f-250 with a 7.3L and was looking in to mods a little low on cash rate now but would like to now of some good performance mods. Is there a way i can put dual shocks on the front? To help with the front end dive??
THANKS
There are many different mods you can do, I would recomend gauges first. Chips, tuners, exaust, intake on and on and on . I dont think the 96 has a waste gate so that eliminates that mod. I have seen dual shocks on these, dont know who makes them. They also make leveling kits to straighten er out. Stick around and somebody will know anything you could ask. Congrats on the truck
wannaburn is right, trucks built before the '99 model year didn't come with intercoolers. The "correct" order to add mods would be to start with gauges, then proceed in the following order: intake, downpipe, 4" exhaust, tranny mods if you have an auto, then increase the power output with a chip or tuner. All these cost some money, however. If you want to maximize performance as much as possible without getting into your pocketbook too much, check out shimming the fuel pressure regulator and the 10K mod. Click here for a link to a highly valuable resource pertaining to Powerstrokes. These mods, and many other things are explained.
Enjoy your truck.
Thanks guys, By gauges u mean temp, oil gauges like that right?? Is there a way to put the 6speed manual in there? Rate now i have the 5 speed manual but on the highway at 90kms its at 2000RPM it has 410 gears. With a 6speed whould i beable to drop the rpms at 90kms?? So by intake u mean get more air in there so would a KaN help with that??

Biggest thing with the intake is to take out the stock and replace it with a new system. I have a K&N set-up and am happy with it. But I think the consensus on this site is to go with the Tymar, seems to be the cheapest and does a great job of filtering. Do not put a high-flow filter in your stock air box, there are a lot of people having problems with that, mostly with the box just not sealing correctly.

There ws just a thread on here yesterday about someone who dusted their turbo with a K&N. I would suggest something other than the K&N.
