Hey the truck in question is in my sig. Anyway, the drivers door lock is acting up.... it lock fine, it unlocks fine also, most of the time. It will unlock if you do not touch the button, once the door button has been depressed, the door will not unlock from the outside, i must go around to the passenger side in order to unlock it. HELP! what could the problem be? and how to i fix it?
i don't have the same problem but my 84 just had the drivers door lock replaced because my sister lost the door keys but if some body pushes the button to get in the truck (not electronic locks here all omish) the key will not work intil you beat around the lock i like that so nobody steals my truck or my brand new 35 doller am/fm/tape radio LOL
take the inner molding stuff off the inside of the door and look at all the rods and stuffcheck for binding or bent rods or un hooked stuff play around with it and watch how stuff works thats how i do it when my stuff dont work

My truck has the same problem. Basically what is happening is that over the years, the door key becomes worn as well as the tumblers in the lock. Eventually the two don't match up as well as you'd like them to and it begins to create this problem. Since the passengers door is not unlocked by key as often, the tumblers say in much better condition, allowing the worn key to operate correctly. If you pull your door panel off and look at the lock itself, somewhere on the lock body you'll find a code, this is the tumbler code. You should be able to take this code to a locksmith and have a key made that would perfectly match the original key in new condition. (At least this is what I've been told, but havent' tried it) Hope this helps
Listen to locknkey; he's got your fix. LOL and don't worry kid, if she really loves you, she won't care what side of the truck you get in; and if she complains, tell her to walk HA HA HA
