Extended Warranties Transferrable?

Just wondering if an extended warranty is transferrable. I called a local dealer, who said no, but I'm looking for confirmation from owners.

Thanks,
Mike

If it's Ford's, definitely. There's a $25 or $50 fee to do it, which can be done through any Ford dealership.

Most "after-market" warranties are also transferable, but: the dealer that originally sold it will lose the commision they earned! Would that explain why you were told that yours is non-transferable?

Thank you,

The reason I was asking is that I just purchased a 2000 Expedition with a little over 36K miles on it. So I was looking at the Ford website on extended warranties, and submitted information for a quote on an extended warranty. I received an electronic reply that my vehicle was already covered under an extended warranty.

So, maybe this is my biggest problem, the original owner moved to Korea. Do you know if I even need anything from the original owner?

Thanks,
Mike

moved, or was told by his supervisors he was going to Korea?.....
well typically if you explain circumstances they will give you the needed leeway, if not, he should be able to fax anything over using a dsn fax machine...assuming he/she is over there due to military?
