I have a 86 F-250 4x2 with a 460. it needs a new transmission or just an input shaft. can anyone please tell me my options or where i can find the information.
I am also looking for a website that shows the original reviews from 1986. any information will help.
what kind of problems are you having, and what kind of transmission do you have? There are a lot of differences between needs a tranny and an input shaft.
Bremen242,
I got the truck from a friends father in law. he is the one that told me what it needed. i will get the info on the tranny. I am looking for what transmissions i can put behind the 460. i plan on doing alot of towing with it.
CW Where are you located? I have a C6 out of a 1986 F350 2WD that I have stored inside for the last couple of years. It was behind a 460. When I pulled it out it worked fine. The only reason I pulled it was because I swapped in a ZF 5-speed.
my boss just had a c6 rebuilt it cost him under 400 total with a shift kit i would go that way a shift kit will help a lot with towing and i was surprised how cheap it was
