transmission problems
i have a 1991 f 450 460 gas 2 wheel drive with 5 speed trans. the problem is trying to get the truck into rev, or second gear when the truck is at dead stop. it acts like the clutch isn't releasing.if the truck is moving or coasting it will go into second gear easily. the clutch is in good shape, no slipping, it will chatter when releasing, but not every time. i can live with the chattering, but not going into gear is geting to me. my first idea is that the pilot bearing is bad, or frozen up and not leting the front shaft run free with the clutch released??? any one else have this problem???
