Ring & Pinion
I am wanting to install gears in my 4x4 and I am wanting to know what tools I will need and if you have a rough estimate on the price of the tools, also if I dont wanna install them my self what would I expect to spend on having them installed for me. They are Dana 60 and 44 thanks

if you plan to do a good install you will need at least a dial indicator to set your backlash. that is the most important thing that i've seen when i set mine up you can find one for @$50-$60. if you got the money you can buy a ring and pinon set up kit. it is more accurate because it sets the pinion depth where it is prerun at the factory. you might could find one cheaper if you look but i have a speedway cat. by me and they a @$300. what i have found though that makes it easier though also is to either get or make some set up bearings for the carrier. i know dana makes a set for dana axles but i do not rember how much they are. basicly though they are stock carrier bearings that have been ground out in the middle to make it easier to set your backlash. instead of pressing the bearings off you can just slide them off to put more shims behind them.
