hello all, finally hade a nice day here in western Ny, I decided to cut out of work early. I had every intention of going home and raking the yard but by some act of god i ended up at the local ford dealer I been hashing over wether my new f250 should be gas or diesel. never drove a diesel before so i figured what the heck ill test drive the f350 xl reg. cab. 4x4 6l psd/ torque shift tranny, they had on the lot.I knew the minute i turned the key and pulled off the lot this motor was for me There is this fairly steep hill headed south on the main rd. I figured it would dog going up. so about 1/4 of the way up i stepped on her. To say the least I was blown away.To be honest guys i really have no use for a diesel but I will get It anyway The only drawback is because of cost i will have to get the XL package instead of the XLT sport like i wanted. But I feel thats a small sacrafice to get that engine. Thanks Mike
I assume you live in the Buffalo area. Although I live in Cali, I bought my truck from Rainbow Motors in Niagra. You may want to stop by there if for no other reason their service manager is top notch. He has helped me with the problems my truck had even though he is all the way on the other side of the country. His name is Keith Wiesinger, tell him Dave from San Diego sent ya.
Check out the FTE purchase program run by 1956MarkII (jeff) on this site. He is in Victor, just South of Rochester. Hard to beat their deals and very honest (Basically $200.00 below invoice and they guarantee the rebates. Read his posts in the New Car/Truck section of this board.
minkman- You may want to check this thread and talk to 1956MarkII (Jeff) about the FTE Purchase Program. He's very close to you and ya may be able to get that XLT w/the PSD!
Thanks guys, Jeff and I spoke at the begining of the week. I live in Holley 20miles west of Rochester. Iam X plan. I bought my wifes explorer at A dealer that offers free oil changes for life. I called my sales person and asked if this applied to diesels and he said yes!!!! also there is another dealer that is offering tires for life. But the big delema for me is wether to get an 04 or wait for the 05"s. I do like the XL package though, I think for me it would work better than A higher grade. Add some runnin boards, a bug shield, soft bed cover, splash guards and good floor mats, and im good to go!!!! My father always said its not how she looks on the outside its what she has under the hood
I know the feeling!! i don't really NEED a diesel, but after test driving one, it was for me!! I traded my 00, for an 04 (built 02/13/04) CC,SB,6.0,TorqShift, power everything, Lariat. I had a Lariat before in my 00. I am deleriously happy with my new 04!! I have had 5 1/2 weeks now, and you can not wipe this grin off my face!
