Ethanol (Flex Fuel 3.0)
Where can I buy this stuff in bottles? There are no E-85 filling stations in my area. Some people say they got it in quart sized bottles but never really said where.

If you don't have E85 filling stations it will be very expensive to get from a chemical company. Also, they probably don't blend it with gasoline, so you would have to mix it with gasoline yourself, and I'm not sure what kind of additives are used in fuel E85. You also don't want to run straight Ethanol because the parts in your truck are made to handle up to an 85% mixture of Ethanol and could lead to things like galvonic corosion in your fuel tank or cause fuel pump failure. Also, if the temperature dropped below 32 degrees and your truck was sitting long enough to get cold while running straight ethanol, you'd never be able to start it because Ethanol doesn't atomize well in cold temperatures. Just curious where you live. Even here in Nebraska there are very few E85 stations, I know there are a few here because of a project Ethanol truck that I was a small part of for a semester.

I live in southern Louisiana. The nearest E85 stations are 500+ miles away. I heard of somebody putting in a quart or two of ethyl alcohol in his 16 or so gallon fuel tank to increase his fuel octane. I thought that would be cheaper than running 89.
