Interior light relay???

Howdy Folks! Long time no see.
I have a 1998 F-150 3 door. The problem is, is there a relay somewhere that could be sticking, or a switch? Sometimes when I open and close the door, any door, the interior light just stays on. Sometimes it stays on for a second like is supposed to. And other times it will stay on for different time lengths ranging from 5 mins to sometimes all night! On the dash where the door ajar light is, it comes on periodically, sometimes staying on and sometimes not wether the interior light is on or not. Anyone have any clues? Also where are the door switches located at? In the doors itself? Or in the side panels under the dash? And if there is a relay for this, where is that located at? Thanx y'all!

Paul!

The door ajar switches are installed at the bottom of the door latch itself inside the door. Best thing to try first is to spray WD 40 into the latches.. a nice healthy amount and close the door about 10 times to free them up. This usually will work but sometimes you have to physically replace them if they stick too badly.
