glow plugs

Hello everyone, I'm the owner of a 1985 F250 diesel dual cab Ford Pick up with 6.9 L size engine in. Do any one knows where the Glow plug relay is located? I think is burn out because the plug light don't came on when I try to start the truck. Thank you in advance.

Seems to me the glow plug relay is located on the top of the engine in the rear, right about where the firewall and top of the trans come together
Test the glow plugs first, sometimes if they are burned out the relay wont operate

I have pretty well the same truck. The glow plug relay is located at the back of the engine under the air filter. I have bypassed mine because it keep coming on and burning out the glow plugs. Kind of expensive to keep on replacing. Just wondering if you have the same problem?

The glow plug unit on that engine is a round cylindrical piece about 4 or 5 inches long with a wiring harness connector plugged into it screwed into the rear of one of the heads (I can't remember which).
