Clutch problems
Hi, my 77 seems to have a few clutch problems. First, when I depress the clutch it doesn't return right away. Second how many return springs should there be, mine has two. The nuts on the ajustment rod are turned all of the way back to the end of the rod(away from the clutch fork). The previous owner seems to have tied up or on the return springs with wire. I think the clutch is out of ajustment and is robbing power

My '73 F100 2wd has one return spring, from the clutch fork to the frame near the engine mount. Clean and lube the linkages - that helped mine a lot. The pedal should be adjusted so it has 2" of movement before it begins to engage the clutch.
