gauge problems
Hi,I have a problem with the gas and temperature gauge on my 1968 f100 6 cyl. with a 3 speed.everything was working great until one morning when I started the truck the gas gauge went up to the full mark and the temp gauge went over to the hot and stayed there.I cleaned all the grounds that I could find and checked the fuses.When I turn the truck off the gauges go back all the way over.Any ideas on why the gauges are acting this way.Thanks in advance for all of you help.

Your Instrument panel voltage regulator is either bad or the ground connection for it is bad.

Definintely the voltage regulator. Litle metal can on the back of the panel. It puts out pulsing 5 volts.
