Took my truck to the dealer the other day to have some warranty work done. I ask them to look at the front of the truck because it didn't look level. Turns out the driver side front spring was 1" less than the passenger side. So they replaced it today along with my Chrome Tube steps. The passenger side step was corroding because there was something on the metal when they chromed it. I can believe they change the tubular steps from 02 to 04. They had to replace both because it didn't match.
It kind of struck me as wierd though. They replaced the front spring but did not do an alignment on it. Took it for a ride and no pulling when driving or braking. Should I be concerned or if you just replace 1 spring you don't need the alignment?
I was looking at my front springs yesterday and noticed that the drivers side only has about 1/4in between the springs and bump stop. But the passenger side has about 1in between the bump stops and springs. Go figure...
With a solid front axle even though they changed the leaf - the steering hasn't changed any. I put add-a-leafs on the front of my truck and it drives just like it did before without any alignment. I wouldn't worry about it should be fine!
