Rust Pitts

Im re painting a 68 Fairlane and I have started sandblasting because I plan on starting from the bear metal, but there is rust patches all over the car and they are pitted, but not hardly enough to go through the metal. Anyways how do I smooth these out. Any certain primer or alot of primer . I have done a few cars before that turned out nice, but Ive never had to deal with "pitting" just either dents and body filler or no dents. Also on a different topic here I have a car that is yellow but Im not sure what color it is and it has a few accident spots about 4" by 5" any idea on how to match it up and when I do paint it , what steps do I need to blend it in to the original paint. I no these are probably dumb questions but I dont want to mess anything up, to nice of cars.

A good 2K primer should fill those rust pits.

I had trouble with cars that had paint codes showing one color, yet they had been two toned later. Do all you can to find out the paint number. Check with previous owners, etc. If all that fails, start looking at paint chips, starting with that cars year and make. Find one close as possibe, (maybe take off a small painted part like a gas tank door or something and show it to your jobber) A good jobber should help you out.
