Chances are that you burned up a few glow plugs( if not more) Check them out first before going any farther. My .02 cents

You must have some faulty glow plugs. When I got mine about a month ago the wait to start light only stayed on for a few seconds and was hard starting. I replaced the complete set of glow plugs and now the wait to start light stays on about 15 or 20 seconds and she starts great. Don't forget to give half throttle over 32 deg and full if under 32 degrees.

well i know that you should keep your glow plugs on a lot more than reomended this is what you should do.
50-100 degrees- 30-40 seonds.
50-0 degrees 2 minutes
0- -20 - go in after you turn on the glow plugs and get a of offe then start it.

The glow plugs won't stay on for 2 minutes. If they did they would burn out, they aren't built for that. Mine starts pretty good under normal operation down to -20 celcius. Just remember to use half the peddle for 0 or above and full pedal for 0 or below.
