Flowmasters

I've heard of the popular 40 Series muffler. i saw that there is 2 different 40 series' though. The Original One(the one i want), and the Delta Flow one. The Original Flowmasters have a more powerful, aggresive tone than the Delta Flows, according to Flowmaster. Does anyone have any experience with either of these mufflers, and if you have sound bytes that would be great.
Thanks for the help.

I run the old timers (non delta flow) 40 series on all of my vehicles. I don't have any soundbites at this time. I run 2 on my 88 5.0 LX Stang, 2 on my 77 F150 460, 2 on my 63 F100 351W and 1 with dual outlets on my 2001 F150 5.4L. It is part# 430402. It has 1 3" inlet and 2 2.5" outlets.

Would this work on a '98 w/ a 4.6L? I think the pipe is 2.5 all the way.

BTW, I really can't tell a difference between the old style & the DeltaFlows.

Yes, when they added a piece of pipe in front of the muffler (to make up for the 6ft long stocker), the expanded the muffler end to snuggly fit into the 3" inlet.
