no paint on the engine
one of my buddies (a Chevy driver) said he heard where a bunch of F-150 engines were put in the truck without being painted and now the freeze plugs are rusting out prematurley, anyone else heard anything like this?

Uhh, yeah... no paint on the engine is gonna cause the freeze plugs to rust through. That makes perfect sense, being as rust would start on the inside... and the inside of the engine certainly doesn't get painted... ROFLMFAO!!! Those Chevy guys really are idiots if they think non painted engines are susceptible to rusty freeze plugs. I'm glad I ran across this thread, it really made my day.
