When I go to take off from a stop and press the gas the engine seems to hesitate. Then slowly pick up. The spark plugs, rotor, cap and wires are about 8 months old with 10k on them. At that time I also set the timing. Should I check the timong again? or could this be another problem? Truck has 214k on the truck and somewhere between 100- 150k on the engine. ( it was relaced in 02 withan engine that had 52k but I don't know what milage was on my truck). This problem just seemed to start in the last couple of days
Chris so you checked the timing and its set check the distributor again and wires maybe its the spark plugs i dont know cause i have a 302 not a 351. It just be the gas your running maybe try some octane boost it might help on the other hand it may not. Go though every thing and check it distributor, cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, maybeits the fuel system. Check Spark plug gap also.

The best thing to do is to get the codes pulled....
If my suspicions are correct...i'd say that your EGR system is not working right.....it is either the valve itself or the little selenoid next to the coil....or the vacuum lines that connect them....or a combo of the three...
Thanks for the input. It is not showing any codes. I will go over the ingintion system this weekend and double check everything.
TheWiz427 new fuel folter has been in the back of my truck for a month now. Everytime I go to replace it something bigger goes wrong and I spend the time on that.
