Latptop hard drive

Ok guys...i need a computer savvy person here. My laptop hard drive took a dump today. I need a new one, first off what do i need to look for for compatability...second where can i find a cheap one?

I can help ya with that one, I have a computer repair business. First off, what kind of laptop? Then, you will need a laptop hard drive, which are a lot smaller, 2.5". One that is similar in size to your old one is good, since you know it will work. Then, the tough part, you have to take apart the laptop. That can get hard, but I've done a few of them. E-Mail me if you need more specifics.

i have a compaq laptop...its a couple years old now. I've had it apart a few times now. My first idea when my hard drive started screaming was to take it apart and fix it....well it worked and now after doing it four more times it doesn't wanna work anymore...so its time to replace it. Are all laptop hard drives the same? Thanks guys.

pretty much as long as it has the same number of pins for the plug in. but tosh. is a good brand.

ok your going to have problems compaqs suck hard to work on/replace items cause of compatibility. pull it apart get the part number and try and order the same thing
