....but if you come in tomorrow between noon and 12:05 wearing read shoes and a blue bonnett, we'll give you 1k off on your order but you got to take delivery before 17:00 the next day...
Okay, who blabbed about the next FTE Purchase Program promotion!! Alright, who was it!! I tell ya, you just can't keep NUTHIN' a secret around here anymore....
"Big bear of a man," huh? Well, Lookin, don't look at me!
I'm beginning to worry here. The new truck will be in in less that 10 days. The dealer called today to tell me that the best he can do on a trade is $4K LESS than what he originally told me. The original # he gave me was fine, so I didnt worry about selling the truck. Now i'm in a bind to get rid of the truck in a hurry. I feel like he knew i'd have a hard time selling it at the price he told me I should. I know NOW that I shouldn't have listened to him, but I guess I am rather naive about these things. I had thought that I had finally found a dealer that would be upfront about the whole thing. Stoooopid Me!
He has all along refused to show me a single scrap of paperwork on my order. And has kept telling me that I'm not eligible for the rebates that I know I am eligible for.
He would never put anything in writing, which as far as the price of the truck goes, is not so much a big deal, since I am using xplan. He offered $300 below the xplan price and I feel like he's now going to "forget" that part of the deal. He has told me all along that he could not guarantee any of the current rebates. He also kept telling me that the (then $500, now $250) xplan rebate was only if I financed thru ford. Now, I think that ford motor credit is offering a separate $500 rebate for financing thru them, in addition to the current $2500 Ford SD rebate. I might be wrong, but I think that I should be getting $2500(Ford) + $250(x) + $500(if I finance w/fmcc). The problem is, what if he continues to tell me I cannot have my xplan rebate? Or, for that matter, any of the other rebates? I have asked him to look these things up in smartvincent. He says he has and that I am being misinformed.
What can I do at this point? And is there anything a consumer can do if a dealership refuses to honor the rebates? No rebates I am questioning are being offered from the dealership itself.
Has anyone ever encountered this? I know I can walk away from the sale, but I really don't want to.
Suggestions???
pretty typical of a new vehicle salesman if you ask me i've dealt with them before myself. You probably are in love with the truck just like anyone would be and the salesmen know that and they use that to their advantage. my advice would be to act like its no big deal and walk. chances are he will at least meet you half way even though that wasnt the original agreement.

Try walking in backwards...works for me...I got a raise last week....
I gotta wait 'til August for my next raise.
But, just so you know, you got me thinking about the PSD again.(thanks ) I just went and priced the truck at cars.com...
I guess it's do-able, but man, I didn't want that kinda payment. The PSD was gonna be my NEXT truck.
Now your talkin...see if you get the PSD you won't need the next truck...twice the miles. Seriously, (PSD) stay within your budget...if(PSD) you can swing it by all meand do it. The real issue (PSD) here is the jerks your dealing with....(PSD) I would take a deap (PSD) breath walk away. Go down (PSD)the road and tell the next dealer your story and see what (PSD)happens...
Yep. You have a point. And I AM thinking of moving about 45 minutes further away from where I work. That mileage sure would help there. I guess I need to consider my options. First of all, I gotta get an xplan price on the truck w/the psd instead of the 5.4, Second, I gotta see if the payments'll be anywhere near where I'd like them to be, Third, I gotta see the difference in mpg-whether thats really a factor or not...
Not to mention, I'll have to have the cahones to walk away from MY truck when it gets here-and that's assuming that I get the price/rebates I expected.
Man- start it all over again..thats gonna bite.
Hey Jeff..if i email the specs, can you quote me a price??
Hang in there....get this...my status now is "released from foreign assembly plant"...vin shows Kentucky as assembly plant. This thing better not have been built outside the U.S......yeiks!
Even if you get the rebate deal worked out, they are still giving you the shaft on your trade-in. Did you give any "good faith" deposit you would lose if you walked? If not, I would walk just as to NOT give this dealer my business, they defnitely don't deserve it!!!
Well- my truck might be here now. Buddy of mine swears he saw it on a transport a little while ago. So, I call the dealer up and remind them that I don't want the dealers stickers put on (another big hassle), just to see if he's gonna say anything. I'm going to go down there tomorrow and see for myself. The trucks pretty distinctive so I'm pretty sure if there's one there, it would be mine. I was hoping for a few more days ...hopefully, my buddy's wrong.
Let them call you....act like you gave up...ya don't care ....make 'em crawl on their knees....cumon' lookin don't crumble....at least act like you got a pair!
Hey its only a truck. Why do you want to deal with some one who is screeeeeeewing you. Tell them That it's your dime and to kiss off and than find another dealer. At what these things cost you should be a happy buyer not a ****ed off one.
