fastfordq756,
What headers did you use? I had to move some tubes around on the set I got to clear the steering box. That worked out OK but they hang lower than I would like.

I used Headmans for a 1977 f-150. they fit in with no trouble, but we had to stop were the steering box is because they wouldn't fit past them. It made us have trouble with clearence for the fan and radiator. we cut a slit in the radiator mounting brackets and slid the radiator back through the slit. This Alowed us to have clearance for the fan. The fan we used was a small 15 inch flex fan. This went in with no trouble. I would have liked to get the motor further back, but it works just fine. What headers did you use, and what mods did you have to make to them if any?

trailerman,
BIG... I bought a Howe aluminum radiator and put an electric fan on it and a wiring harness from Painless . Had to make mounts and all that but it stays cool even on the hottest days.

I got one off of a 66 with a 390. It does an excelent job, I have a 160 thermostat in it and it never gets above that in the summer. The wiring harnes I built myself, it took a while but it looks good and was cheep.

fastford756,
I haven't relocated the springs yet(thats another project). My goal is something about 15" wide. Check out my gallery, there's a shot of the bed that shows the tubs.

I have thoought about just cutting them out and putting some tubs in the back to make room for bigger tires to. So you think that 15 inchers would clear under there with no problem? Do you race your truck, if so what kind of times do you turn?

Hey Guys
Yea I race a little, we have a local 1/8 mile track. My truck runs 8.40s, about 83mph
and 1.84 60ft. I bought the tubs from Chassie Works. They came with good instructions and a few tips but cutting out the old finders and trimming the tubs was alot of work because the side of the beds not straight so think about it before you start cutting.
Go for it!

my leafs are relocated to the frame, and 15.5 is as wide as you can go.

I have about 1.5" clearance. Very nice truck Tiremine, it looks alot like the one in my garage.

headturnin65,
WOW! I checked out your pics. That thing is beautiful. I know how much time, hard work and $$$ it takes to do that. My hat is off to you.... One of the guys asked about some of the mods. I added some pics to my gallery of how I did it.
