6.0 problems

Ok reaslisticaly how many 6.0 have problems. Is it the gassers bagging on them or what. IS it just the 2003. How are the 2004's. Looking at buying in october 04. I hear so much good and bad about the 6.0. Let me know.

I have only had one problem with my 2003 F-250 6.0L PSD. 1/03 engine build. #3 injector @927 miles failed and was replaced. Other than that the truck runs like a dream. Power for days.........

Bought an Oct. 03 2004 6.0 that ate itself at 6,000 miles. They replaced the truck and the engine seemed better but I got Ford to replace the truck as a lemon and the new engine seems even better yet...

I have a 04 F250 PSD Crew Cab Fx4, build date 1/21/04 with 3300 miles since purchased last month and runs and drives great. I must admit I was worried after reading all the articles on here myself after I purchesed this truck but even if I read them prior to buying I would have still bought the same truck, There are many horror stories but many good one's also,, My theory is if Ford can't fix there computer flash issue's the Preator will. but I love this truck and would recommend one to anyone,,

I purchased a 2004 f350 4x4 cc back in Dec. of '03. The only thing wrong so far was a low speed shutter on take off (between 0-5 mph) . The dealership shimmed the driveline and fixed the problem. I do see a little oil residue from the rear main seal. No drips yet. I'm going to have them replace the seal on my first oil change. I have installed a cold air induction system with a 4" exhaust system, and I'll tell you what. Just with those two installs, the truck has a lot more power and I picked up 2+ mpg and I only have 3800 miles on the engine. I'm hoping on a little more after the engine breaks in. I took it for a little ride on the interstate the other day, average speed was 80 mph and I got 18 1/2 mpg. In town I seeing a little over 18 mpg with half the miles highway and half in town driving. I am really happy with this truck. I've heard alot of bad things about the 6.0, but mine is great, no big issues with it. All auto manufacturers have horror stories, ford is no exception. Buy a psd, don't be scared.

Is it the gassers bagging on them or what?
Yep, all the 6.0 problems were fabricated by the gassers. We stayed up until wee hours of the morning dreaming up problems and trolled as diesel owners just to make them look bad. It's a covert plan to rid the world of 6.0's and now we've been exposed. I guess the checks from Cummins will stop now! Thanks alot!!

Because I have a gasser doesn't mean I hate diesels and I doubt the diesel owners hate gassers either. We got what we bought because that's what works for us. You think that the gassers don't have any problems? Go look in the 5.4 and V10 forums.

Any time a new engine, transmission, whatever, is introduced there are going to be unanticipated problems. Want to avoid some of the problems? Wait until the 2nd year after introduction to buy.
