HELP!! with starter
i recently bought a 78 monarch, but all the wiring is gone basically. on my relay mounted on the wheel well i have power coming in, then out to starter, and then the s terminal i now hooked to a push button starter, should a wire go from s terminal to the starter??? all it does it click, you can hear the relay engage but starter doesnt turn over.

Sounds like the relay may be fried. Some of them may still click but not pass on the power to the starter. The only wire you need to the starter is the big juice wire from the relay.

to tell if your relay is hooped jump it and if the starter turns over it's the relay if it doesn't then it's the starter , by jump it I mean connect a cable such as one jumper cable from the battery positive to the starter cable on the relay if it cranks it's the relay that's bad , by using a jumper cable you can disconnect it quickly if necessary.Sometimes when it just clicks the battery is low.
