Well it depends on what you want, usually full length headers cost more, but I just saw a dyno chart test on shorty equal length, shorty unequal length, and full length they were all within a few horses of the other.
Also since you have lots of room under that old truck hood, I have heard not seen that a set of shorties for a ford mustang will work on an old truck.
I got a set from Summit I think??? Can't remember where I have gathered all of my parts from. Anyway, the '69 model year offered the 302. That's what I ordered. I called the Tech line first and they confirmed the fit. I'm pretty sure they are dynomax headers. I can try and find the part #, but can't promise anything. I know the box is long gone.
Install wasn't too bad. The driver side dropped right in, probably since I have an auto tranny. I had to jack up the engine and loosen the starter to get the passenger side in. I then got a universal dual exhaust kit from JCWhitney. It was cheap and the pipe coming off the header is flexible. So it bends around the tranny mount nicely. That kit has the exhaust "dumping" right in front of the rear tires. It's loud in the cab, but I like it!
Edit: The headers I am talking about are the long tube type.
I was think a set of shorties for a mustang would work. 68 stepside don't worry about a part number. I'll dig around and see whaat I come up with. Thanks
Dynomax headers the ones you reccomended. It was a job putting them in. I ended nearly pulling my motor out, and had to make a notch in my frame to get them to fit. It made a big difference though.
