i got a 351m that has sit for about a 1 1/2 and after turning it over it wouldn't pump no fuel .. found the fuel pump to be fine -- then i found it was not firing as well .. took the dist cap off and turned it over and the rotor is not turning as well .... so i got something in the motor not turning the dist and not pumping the fuel pump .. are they both releated to the same thing or is the dist. and the fuel pump arm working off of two different things ??
when turning the motor over it does not sound ruff or hard to turn over the starter spins it over and it doesn';t make any wierd noises or anything

It sounds like the timing chain is busted. The Camshaft drives the hub that operates the fuel pump. The camshaft is actuated by the timing chain.
You can remove the distributor, take a flashlight and look down into that portion to make sure.
