I took this directly out of the 2004 warranty book. This scares me! Does this mean we cant do anything to our trucks? Someone help me out a little.
Damage Caused by Alteration or Modification
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover any damage caused by:
• alterations or modifications of the vehicle, including the body, chassis, or
components, after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford Motor Company
• tampering with the vehicle, tampering with the emissions systems or with
the other parts that affect these systems (for example, but not limited to
exhaust and intake systems)
• the installation or use of a non-Ford Motor Company part (other than a
certified emissions part) or any part (Ford or non-Ford) designed for
off-road use only installed after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford
Motor Company, if the non-Ford part fails or causes a Ford part to fail.
Examples include, but are not limited to lift kits, oversized tires, roll bars,
cellular phones, alarm systems, automatic starting systems and
performance-enhancing powertrain components

Take it with a grain of salt... The same excerpt can be found in all of Fords owner's manuals. The only problem is the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act that only allows a manufacturer to cancel warranty coverage if the modification is proven to have caused the problem. I read the same thing in my 03 Mustang GT's manual. The car had a serious alignment problem, 6 attempts and a trip to Firestone and it would pull from the left lane to the far right median in under 4 seconds. Well I filed for Lemon Law relief, Fords attorney tried to play the "modification" 
card even though I didn't touch the suspension. Needless to say I won, 
received $5300 in returned payments and am now driving an 04 FX4 
. So I guess Ford won too...but noone else makes a truck like mine...PS I had a CAI, Strut Tower Brace, Sub-frame connectors, short-throw shifer, full-headers, X-pipe, and cat-back exhaust. Got to sell those parts for some $ too.
