going thru puddles

hey everybody, i did some slight off-roading driving thru some mud puddles in my 03' egde. the next day i opened the hood. it goes without saying the engine was covered in a coat of the muddy water. i had no problems since then . does this hurt anything? do i clean with low pressure water? any advise will help thanks

Garden hose sprayer pressure is the safest, but even a pressure washer held at a safe distance is certainly an option. I use the pressure washer on my mudder and have yet to see anything really bad happen.

I have best luck with a pressure washer. Run it through the carwash and hit it up with some soapy stuff, scrub it all and then rinse. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to just spray off, you do have to scrub it.

Scrubbing is prolly a good idea. Even my 3200 psi pressure washer has a hard time taking off some of the baked on mud.

Around here I get the "blue" mud alot. Everything rubber from my TSLs to all the underhood hoses turn blue after a good day of muddin. The pressure washer won't touch the stuff.

Yeah, I think I'm giving up on any chrome accessories for under my hood. Can't tell what color anything is supposed to be anymore. 10 seconds of fun turns into 3 hours of cleaning. Could be worse though . . . would be a Chevy!
