steering box interchange question

steering box interchange question
I have a 77-1/2 frame with power steering, and want the manuel steering, I don't think they offered it in that year so does anyone know can I use the manuel steering out of an earlier truck and will it bolt up without alot of mods. by the way this is a 4x4 F150

not sure about the 4x4 box ...but on 2wd's i have put 73 power boxes on 72 and 66 model trucks without problems at all...thinkin...apples and apples..look at a manual 4x4 72 model box i bet it'll fit.
