Cracked Frame

My 86 F150 frame is cracked where the steering gear box bolts on. I have had it welded twice and it doesn't hold. Do they make a repair kit for Fords like they do Chevys? Please help!

Did you drill a hole at each end of the crack to keep it from continuing? Welding it should be fine, provided it's not a crummy weld.

Theres nothing at the bottom to drill through and the crack goes all the way to the top. There is no room to build it up with anything. I don't know what else to deo.

No, I'm still driving it now but it's starting to shimmy again so I no it's cracked again.

Don't weld a frame "across the grain". The only way to save it is weld a structural plate. But do not weld "up and down". It will fail. Only weld along the fore and aft on a frame. Grind off all the stuff on there and take it back to the original frame. Build a plate, weld it on (not up and down) and remount the steering box. Good luck.
