Is anyone into photography? I've been into it for about 2 1/2 or 3 years. I have a Canon Elan 7E(I love it, best camera I've ever had) with a vert. grip/battery pack. I have three lenses: 28-80mm, 80-200mm, and set 500mm. Hopefully I'll have a 1000-4000mm lense pretty soon.
I used to do a lot of photography when I was in high school. I have an old Pentax K-1000 35mm that is in immaculate condition. I have a Vivitar flash, a 28mm wide angle lens, a 400mm telephoto lense, a 2x converter, and a nice aluminum case for all the gear. Here recently I've gotten back into film again and am looking for a 10-20' cable release so I can be in the family pictures. I have a Nikon digital camera with an optical zoom and a separate wide angle lense and I also love the convenience of digital photography. I always get my film pictures on CD as well so I can edit and print them on the computer.
I live in Rochester, NY, the home of Eastman Kodak: WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE!!
Seriously, don't get to do much with it lately, but around here somewhere are the following: a nice old Olympus OM-10, a Kodak Advantix (nice for snapshots), a Kodak Handle instant camera, a Brownie 50th Anniversary Box, a Kodak CX4230 digital (love it- any MORON can use the software it comes with), and an original brown-leather-and-stainless Polaroid Land camera in LIKE-NEW condition (are those worth anything? It dates from the late 40s).
If you're REALLY into photography, and you ever get to Western New York, a MUST is a stop at the International Musueum of Photography at the George Eastman House, right here in Rochester. The house has been featured TWICE on A&E's "America's Castles."
I mostly work in b/w. Have a darkroom, computer color enlarger, film processor, etc. I like black and white more than color because there are so many more options. When you print a picture in color, there are not many options. B/W has a lot more and is more fun. That is, until Kodak goes out of business, which may be soon.
I use a Canon A40 Digicam. Love it, absolutly excellent pictures for a 2 mp. I'll get you guy's a link to my picture website (although last time I posted it, I got 3 or 4 email's saying somebody was trying to change my password to that site, obviously it didnt work, but just promise me you wont, thanks).

PLEASE!! We still have about 20,000 people employed here in Rochester, lord knows how many more in Colorado and California. Yeah, they missed the boat on digital, but there's still a decent demand for 35mm film, and Kodak's cash cow, movie film.
I have a remote cable release. It is really handy. If your looking for a remote for a newer camera I would check into one.
I would love to find one for the Pentax K1000. The Nikon digital has a timer that allows you to set it and get back in the picture. If you know somewhere that sells the cable release, I would be real interested.
Since I got my digital camera I find it very useful to post pics of machine work on various websites. I don't take pictures like most people do. It is also handy to take some shots before taking something apart. Plus you don't have to wait for prints.
