E4OD transmision and deisels
I'm looking for a used F250 deisel and there seems to be a lot of them with the E4OD and just over 100,000 miles. Iknow there were problems with these trucks eating the automatic. Were some years worse? Did Ford fix the problem? What milage range did the problem occur? Thanks in advance for any info.

'95 and later were supposed to be fixed by Ford. Lifespans on earlier years averaged about 120,000, but many died by 75,000. Rebuilds cost $1500-2000 with upgrades, so keep that in mind when making an offer.
