very nice truck on dunes, im from michigan, and they dump tons of salt on the roads here and i have never had a problem with my 88 f-150 bumper rusting out infact it is still spotless even thought the rest of the truck suffers from cancer.
Nice clean truck! Check out National Tire And Wheels Fitment Guide. It says for your truck with a 4" lift the tire size is 35x12.50. Looking at the picture, it looks like there should be enough clearance. Check out their website @ www.ntwonline.com

I realize they are not supposed to hit, but they do when the suspension is slightly compressed. I actually went slightly smaller than the book suggested on the tires. So, I'm going to move the front bumper out a few inches and that should solve that problem. Rumor has it that there is a kit for that sort of thing, but I am unable to find it yet.
Just thought I'd let you guys know what I finally decided to do. I took it to a fabrication outfit and he said all of his friends cut off the bumper. So I had him do mine. It cost me an hour of labor, but it looks quite nice. He also took some clear sealer and sealed up the bare steel to inhibit any rust.

Thanks for the suggestions!
So dunes how much did you have cut off?
Just a few inches or all the way around until its flat?

It looks like he cut about 2" on the bottom and tapered it up to about a half an inch on the top. I'll have to take a picture this afternoon and post it so you can see. It looks good! If you didn't know it, you would swear its still stock looking.
I have got a 6" lift on my F150 and all I did was use a piece of 1 by 1" tubing for a spacer and bolted it back up. Tires dont rub at all and its hardly noticeable.
I took it to a shop that does fabrication and also bedliners. He only charged me an hour of labor. He just gave me a Sharpie marker and told me to mark where I wanted it cut. I don't know what he cut it with. He must have followed up with a grinder because its pretty smooth.
I admit I was pretty leary of cutting the bumper, but the other choice (pushing the bumper out) would have inhibited in me getting a winch with my current front receiver and would have took three hours of labor.
my uncle had the same truck and lift and his tires rubbed. he cut the corner off the bottom end of the bumper and it works fine. he cut it off probably two years ago and you cant even notice it. it did rust a small amount but only on the edge and no where else. if you wanted to im sure a little silver spray paint would work and look fine
Ondunes.....it's Marky, right? How's the website doing?
I think the new website is good. I do miss my old 'Marky's Extreme Garage' website; But I don't miss the late nights programming it! I don't talk too much about the new site cuz I don't want to stir anything up on this very helpful forum regarding my truck!
