Where do you want the torque to peak - just off idle, midrange, or upper RPM?

I ran a couple of sims with the following baselines

10.0:1 CR
Dual plane intake
750 cfm carb
Headers w/small tube primaries
Moderate head work (port matching and chamber polishing)

Here are the numbers from the cams indicated...

Comp Cams 280H
Torque - 470 @ 4000
Horsepower - 413 @ 5000

Lunati 00096
Torque - 478 @ 3500
Horsepower - 418 @ 5000

Crane Powermax H-288-2
Torque - 468 @ 4000
Horsepower - 414 @ 5000

Edelbrock Performer RPM Hydraulic 7167
Torque - 447 @4500
Horsepower - 419 @ 5500

You could increase those numbers somewhat with a little more attention to head work, but I don't know if the added expense would just be justified. Any of the above combos would certainly be a very nice street mill.

Unless you already have the 429 purchased (and maybe even if you do) you would do your self a favor to go to a 460 block as the extra cubes would give you a nice boost in HP and torque. Since all the combos above made almost 1hp per cu inch, and over 1 lb-ft torque per cubic inch, the added 30 cubes would make a noticeable difference with zero penalty in weight and cost )if you can find a gimme block in good shape). You would be at - or over - 500 lb-ft torque and 450 hp with just the change in displacement.
