power locks
hi there, ive got an 86 f250 with manual door locks, i want to convert to power locks and im wondering if anyone has ever done this before, what would be involved, what would be needed off the donar vehicle, would the donar vehicle have to be a ford truck or could it be anything ford from the 80s

I just installed power locks from a 1987 Plymouth Voyager in my 1977 F-250. It wasn't too hard. There turned out to be a perfect place on the lock mechanism inside the door to hook the motor up to. I used a single rivet to attatch the motor to the door after making a bracket out of sheet metal. I used a wiring diagram from the van to wire the locks just like they were in the van. I cut the door panel so I could put the switch in and used a fuse link to hook it up to the battery. HERE is a picture.
