What gives? I plugged up last night, since it was in the 20's, went out this morning and it started right up. I went in to finish my cereal and get the kids ready for school. When I came back out to take them to school and go to work, the engine wasn't running. I wouldn't restart, so I got in the car and went on. At lunch I came home to try to start the truck, and it won't start. The engine spins over great, the batteries are strong. There is no telltale white fuel vapor coming from the exhaust pipe, as if it were getting fuel but not enough heat. The tach doesn't move at all while starting. So I began to suspect the CPS. But then I noticed that the "Wait to Start" light doesn't come on either. The rest of the lights (battery, water in fuel, etc) all come on when the key is turned, but the Wait to Start light never comes on. It's about 32 outside right now. Plenty of fuel in the tanks, and plenty of oil in the crankcase. I'm out of ideas, and have called the dealer to come get it.

If you are still having the problem, try checking your fuses, chances are that the fuel heater is shorting out and blowing your computers fuse. Try disconnecting the fuel heater, replace the fuse and try again. It worked for me, after multiple mechanincs told me that I had a faulty computer and all of my glowplugs needed replacing.

Right on on the fuse. There is a fuse box under your hood on the drivers side that has the fuse you will be looking for. If you find one of the large fuses blown try repacing it first. If it blows again remember which one it is and then trouble shoot it from there.
