i have a problem with my 4.6 that we can't find and with 182,000 miles i'm thinking about changeing engines.just wondering what pointers ya'll might have,i plan on doing it myself
You don't have to remove the body to get the engine out, although shops are lifting the bodies to get the heads off for the head gasket replacements. You will have to disconnect all the hoses, wires, tranny, belt, hood, radiator, etc. before that sucker will come out. Like I said before get a shop manual to reference all the components and take copious notes as you proceed and label everything....it's easy to get wires, bolts, screws and hoses mixed up.
