Vibration when stopping

Every once in awhile when I slow down the front feels like I'm on a washboard road. I've read that wheel bearing do this as do brake problems. The truck is a 76 F250 4x4 with D44HD front. It doesn't pull when I brake and there are no funny sounds. Just the bumps. Any ideas what to look for?

Have your rotors or drums turned. When worn, they develop ridges and uneven surfaces, and the pads "skip" on the surfaces, and the washboard effect comes from the skip-grab-skip-grab of the pads on the drums or rotors.

I'd have to agree with the other answer iI just read. Localized hard spots (The main reason you have your drums/rotors turned. It is rather amazing some of the strange things that brakes, drums/rotors, incorrect adjustment, incorrect bleeding, etc.) can cause early brake material wear that sometimes won't fall under the latest warranty guidelines from "most" auto parts manufacturers. Knowing this, NEVER, (unless you absolutely have to) do any brakes, unless you turn the drums/rotors, you're only lessening the life of your parts and the quality of the job. It also makes for a lot smoother stop, believe it.
