Cut tire question

Hey all. It seem that when I was muddin my tire rubbed on the driver side and the chrome surrounding of the wheel well sliced my tire on the luggs. Not it is not close to letting any air out. My question is, will my thread start breaking off. I have super swamper SSR's.

Depends on how jagged and wide the cuts are. Some tire stores offer "SIPING", which is nothing more than making symetrical cuts across the tread for better traction. A good clean narrow cut shouldn't cause any probs. But a jagged one with chunks missing, may cause rubber to start flying off at higher speeds.

if the cut just went into the the tread (lugs) and it didnot cut down to the tire casing itself then it is most likly just cosmetic and wont hurt anything, if you have a loose peice of rubber just cut it of smoot you can even take a angle grinder and smooth rubber out, off road and mud racers grind there treads in different shapes all the time trying to get better traction.
