Stearing problem
Took my F-250 4x4 SD to the dealer today. Whenever you make a sharp turn it feels like something is knocking in the front end and feels like you momentarily loose stearing control.
Dealer called back and said they have another SD that's been in the shop for two weeks with the same problem. They say they've tried everything and can't figure ouit what the problem is. Told me that they checked mine out, admitted I have the same problem but say there is nothing they can do until Ford engineering advises on either a fix for the problem or advises that it's (a normal operating condition). Anyone else encounter this problem or know of a fix for it?

Stearing problem
This is only an educated guess but it sounds like it may have the wrong steering pivot arm on it that is connected to the steering box allowing the wheels to travel past the normal angle point and thus locking at that point and the idle arm or a tie rod arm slapping against the cross member under the engine and thus loss of steering control
Stearing problem
I am the guy that ordered the 250, 4x4 w/ the 3.73 gears and got 4.30s. I took it for a ride to decide if I could live w/ the 4.30s (I can't) and when I made U turn I heard a knocking in the front end. I found the hubs were locked in, I dialed them out, the noise was still there only maybe a little quiter. That made my decision not to take the truck that much easier. Good luck, Andy T
