I saw a commercial for this new salvage yard today on tv. It was called You wrench or you pull it. they have over 1,000 vehicles. Looks pretty fun. There having a grand opening this weekend anyone know any thing about them? I think there number is 417-0448.
We have them here in Fla! I like going to them if anything just to look around and every once in awhile they have a all you can carry for 25$ weekend and you'd be surprised what people will put on their back all they have to do is walk 10 feet. You can also put little parts in your pocket and innocently walk out
I used to get to the local "pick your part" wrecking yard early on Saturday, park near the gate just to watch what people do on $29.95 all you can carry weekend.
It really is a great form of entertainment.
Two of my favourite's are the guy who attaches rubber snubbers all over him and parts dangle from the other end.
Or
The two biker dudes who used straps over their shoulders attached to and carry a Big block Chev 396 with tranny bolted up to it and parts laid on top of that, carry it 16' and load it on the back of a pickup >
$59.90 for everything !
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-May-02 AT 08:08 PM (EST)]After they were done I asked them how they would practice for something like this.
One of them said " We play flip the Japanese(something like that) car
at the club house. He wasn't kidding, they flip and roll old Datsuns and Toyota's for fun.
One time during the $29.99 for all weekend, I saw three guys carrying a complete Chevy pickup (doghouse, cab, box) out of the yard and paid the owner $30. The owner stopped the promotion after that.
Just bringing this to the top again. 417-0448 is the right number. (757) but it doesnt work... I am sure thats the right number because thats what it says on the commercial.. ive seen it about 10 times now. Next time im gunna right down the street name.
Actually folks, I know the owner of both yards (HR area and the one in North Fla.) He owns a couple in Richmond and various ones throughout the country.
As to the all you can carry deal, it's for the first weekend only, and one and only one person has to carry, not drag, the merchandise for about 20 feet (there is a area marked off.) Best one was a guy carried a complete 350 out of the St. Louis yard, he just put it up on his shoulder, I've seen pictures. This guy doesn't care if he loses a little on this opening deal, I assure you, he makes plenty of money.
