You can pick up the accutators on e bay as a kit for about 25.00 but there is a electrical supply that sells them cheaper ( i can't remeber the name of the site). I had already bought my kit off of ebay before I saw that thread. You may go to this site http://www.the12volt.com/ they have alot of good info. As far as the install I have only installed a alarm with the power door locks. The door locks are really not that hard the alarm was more of a pain. You can also find the Power Window kits on ebay. Good luck
I've installed both door and window kits. Door locks will work easiest -w- an alarm. Actuators can be installed in the doors. Electric Life sells an excellent window kit that slides over the manual crank gear. It's easy to install. Good luck
I found the webiste http://www.partsexpress.com just search for power door locks they are 3.85 each. On ebay they carry a power window kit made by Stahl that is supposed to be pretty good. That is next on my list.
Just wandering, if i convert to power locks and buy an alarm system with remote keyless entry, i was wandering how the remotes are programed into the car to tell it to lock and unlock. Dont they have to be programmed into a certain code? I just dont quite understand it.
If you're converting your standard locks to power, you'll probably going to use aftermarket motor's (actuator's). You'll need to use a keyless entry or alarm system to power them, or use relays and rocker switches. If you use relay's & switches, the keyless can hook into the relay system to power the locks.
