Has anyone converted their '73-79 truck to one piece door glass, like most of the street rod guys do on their hot rods?
I know it makes a big differances on interior wind noise but can be a problem to do- such as getting the window to go up and down. The glass is not a problem because it's flat but I'm not sure if the factory mechanisms inside the door would roll the window up and down (I have manual windows). Has anyone done this? Input/suggestions would be appreciated.
Nick
Actually the glass in our doors is not flat. It does have a slight curve to it. Because of this no-one makes a conversion kit for our trucks. Check about a week back in this fourm, there was just another thread about it and I linked some more info in there.
Do you think that this curv is common and a larger glass shop might have it or beable to get it? Do you think the window regulator and all would beable to handel the extra weight and size?
What was the name of the last thread?
