Talking rear axle disk brake conersion

I am going to swap my 7.5 axle that has 3.73 gears and an open diff for an 8.8 off an explorer with 4.10 gears and a limited slip. Ive been told to switch the master cylinder for one off an explorer. I think that I just need a proportioning block off an explorer, not the master cylinder. Ive also heard that you can fool with the ranger's mastercylinder by adjusting the bolt that controls the amount of fluid, but that sounds like it would cause a bigger problem, and pretty ghetto.

Which one should I do? I am leaning to towards the proportioning block, but will it bolt onto my ranger's master cylinder?
Should I get a variable proportioning valve from summit or jegs and just set my own line pressures?

Any input will be appreciated!

I think you will need a proportioning valve either way. A lot of people will say that you need the explorer master cylinder, however, you'll find a few people that have kept the ranger master cylinder with no problems so far. Haven't done it myself, just reflecting what I've heard. Good luck
